Siding or paint? What’s the best choice?
For our customers, the answer is an unequivocal “siding!”
SIDING OFFERS THE FOLLOWING ADVANTAGES:
Ability to resist water
Won’t rot or chip
Variety of choices
Add color and definition
Significant upgrade of your home’s appearance
HERE ARE SOME OF THE POPULAR SIDING OPTIONS
Vinyl siding is made from PVC plastic. It’s lightweight and comes in many colors and textures. It won’t rot or flake; nicks and scratches won’t show. Vinyl is less expensive to purchase and install than most other siding materials.
CEDAR SHINGLE SIDING
Cedar shingles, or “shakes,” are a made of natural cedar. They offer the look of real wood but require less maintenance than wood clapboard.
WOOD CLAPBOARD SIDING
Wood siding is a popular choice these days, especially solid woods (cedar, pine, spruce, redwood, cypress). With periodic staining or painting, wood siding can last decades. Wood siding can outlast vinyl. Note: The better grades of wood siding can be pricey.
FIBER CEMENT HOME SIDING
A lower cost alternative to wood, fiber cement siding can look like wood, stucco, or masonry. Fiber cement house siding is strong and fireproof. It has low maintenance and can appear like wood clapboard, shingles, stucco and masonry.
SEAMLESS STEEL SIDING
Seamless steel siding can have a wood texture as well as a corrugated steel look. It is very strong and resists shrinking and bulging with changing temperatures.
ENGINEERED WOOD SIDING
This engineered wood siding is strong and can stand up to extreme weather conditions. Made with wood fibers and exterior resin, it comes in many styles and textures. It is a less expensive alternative.
